Divine Abundance and the Franciscan Vision

Divine Abundance and the Franciscan Vision Divine abundance is fundamentally grounded in creation theology, which is often compromised in humans who can only see scarcity (e.g. The Prodigal Son (Luke 15) Laborers in the Vineyard Mt 20)). Divine abundance is expressed in two ways that are particularly relevant to the gospel: importance of table fellowship and importance of hospitality to strangers.

 

You can now earn a Certificate from the Franciscan School of Theology while learning right here at the Franciscan Renewal Center. Take twelve classes to earn this certificate in Franciscan Vision. FST Instructors will teach in person here at the Casa.

Each class is one unit. Twelve units earns the Certifi cate. FST also off ers four one-week summer programs at Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside, California. Each summer study week is four units. You can earn twelve credits with any mix of Casa on-site classes and summer study weeks.

Fr. Garrett Galvin
Fr. Garrett Galvin, OFM serves the Franciscan School of Theology as Associate Professor of Sacred Scripture and as Vice President for Academic Affairs. His academic specialization is Deuteronomistic History. He holds a Master of Arts from Catholic University of America, a Master of Arts from the Graduate Theological Union, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Catholic University of America. Fr. Garrett also holds his Licentiate of Sacred Theology from the Jesuit School of Theology, Santa Clara University. His publications include Egypt as a Place of Refuge (Mohr Siebeck) and David’s Successors: Kingship in the Old Testament (Liturgical Press). In addition to his teaching and administrative duties at FST, Fr. Garrett offers a number of retreats and days of recollection each year.
